If anyone has any insights or theories on what the possible mechanism is for this I'd love to hear it. If this song is dropping my glucose I have to assume that it's pushing it out of the blood stream into storage (fat). I have a lot of questions that I doubt anyone can answer at this point, but I'd love to chat about it and hear others experiences.
I fast regularly, sleep well, walk daily, strength train, grow almost all of my own food and cook all my meals from scratch, so it's not an issue of improper diet and lifestyle for me. I have all the boxes checked for healthy blood glucose but I still run high.
I have a working theory that certain genetics are well-adapted to breaking down food and extracting more energy out of it, making some people more susceptible to blood sugar spikes, especially when they eat processed carbohydrates. I've come to see that as an advantage and not a disease state, because we can survive on less food. The downside of that being that we can't handle the processed foods in our modern food environment and that leads to deprivation and restriction when most people can eat a cookie without a huge spike and we can't. I don't know that it's wise to blunt the glucose response (if it actually IS a healthy adaptation) just so we can tolerate more carbs. In general, I believe that shifting our biochemistry to treat the symptoms of living out of alignment with our genetics and nature is unwise, even if it's with frequency medicine that doesn't produce side effects, but I'm trying to sort through all of that on a case by case basis.
I LOVE what's happening here with IC's and frequency medicine, but I'm most interested in finding and correcting disruptions at the root cause and in this case, I'm not sure it's a disease state to have a high glucose spike to excessive carbs. Just to be clear, I can't even eat an apple after a healthy meal without a glucose spike over 8 mmol/L, so I'm not just talking about cookies or processed carbs here. If anyone has experiences or thoughts I'd love to hear them!
