Geranylgeraniol, also known as GG, is a naturally occurring isoprenoid compound found in small amounts in fruits, vegetables, grains, annatto, and certain edible oils. It is involved in the body’s mevalonate pathway, an important cellular pathway connected with protein prenylation, CoQ10-related pathways, vitamin K2/MK-4–related processes, mitochondrial function, and healthy cell signaling. Geranylgeraniol may help support cellular energy, muscle comfort and recovery, bone metabolism, cardiovascular wellness, metabolic balance, healthy inflammatory response, gut microbiome balance, and overall vitality, especially when the body’s natural isoprenoid pathways need extra support.
