Fucoidan is a natural sulfated polysaccharide that is found mostly in various species of brown seaweed such as mozuku, kombu, limumoui, and wakame. It may be used to increase enhance immune system function as well as provide antioxidant protection. Other uses include prevent blood clots, normalize blood composition, increase antiviral activity, inhibit the activity of tumor cells, regulate blood sugar levels, support connective tissue and cartilage, help maintain the health of the gastrointestinal tract, support the function of the kidneys and liver, as well as help with atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction and other illnesses, caused by aging.
