Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) is an herb that has been used for medicinal purposes since ancient Greek and Roman times. Some of the health benefits associated with horsetail include promote wound healing, help with urinary tract infections, act as a diuretic, improve nail health, fight infections, stop bleeding, reduce pain, and promote hair growth. It may also be used to help with osteoporosis, balding, tuberculosis, jaundice, hepatitis, kidney and bladder problems, joint disease, gout, osteoarthritis, frostbite, weight loss, and heavy menstrual periods. Horsetail may have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
