Uva Ursi, also known as bearberry (since bears enjoy eating the plant’s berries), is a fruit-bearing plant found in North America and Eurasia. The leaves of the plant have been used as herbal remedies for centuries. Uva Ursi leaves have diuretic, astringent, and anti-inflammatory properties. Urva Ursi leaves are most commonly used to help treat cystitis (bladder infections) and urinary tract infections (UTIs). It may also be used to help with infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, enlarged prostate, bronchitis, and pneumonia.
