The frequency for the Memory Boist is listed as 40 Hz. Why does the Play button say 75 Hz on the left and 115 Hz on the right?

40 Hz refers to the binaural beat (the difference between the two tones sent to each ear). The small numbers on the player show the actual left/right ear tones โ here 75 Hz (left) and 115 Hz (right). Their difference is 115 โ 75 = 40 Hz, which is the target gamma beat. For the binaural effect to form properly, please use headphones. ย

Hiย Anton SF ย โ I have a question regarding this 40 Hz audible (and perhaps any other audible that play different frequencies in the left & right ears) โ my brain surgery left me completely deaf in my right ear. Classic binaural beats generally require the brain to receive two slightly different tones - one in each ear. If you're completely deaf in your right ear, boneโconduction to one side wonโt reliably create the 40 Hz โdifferenceโ inside the brain, so benefit is uncertain, but it worth to try, especially if you have bone conduction headphones.ย

This limitation mainly applies to classic binaural beats, since they rely on the brain receiving two slightly different tonesโone in each earโto create the perceived frequency.
Most other audibles on Infopathy do not rely on that mechanism, so having single-sided deafness shouldn't prevent you from benefiting from them. You can certainly experiment and see which ones resonate best with you.
