Infrared (IR) light is invisible to the naked eye, but looking directly at it can damage eyesight. Does that mean we shouldn't look at a functioning IC pad?

The IC Pad uses LED lights (blue, red, and infrared), and even when the infrared mode appears โ€œdark,โ€ itโ€™s still active. So as a general precaution, itโ€™s best not to look directly into the emitters, even if you donโ€™t see light.
