Sarah Kleber, you can apply IC Pad on the sternum or the bottom of the head (from the back).

what kind of adapter do i need to connect IC to my phone?

Kristina , for iPhone 14 or earlier versions you need a "Lightning to 3.5mm adapter". For iPhone 15 or most Android phones, you need a "USB-C to 3.5mm adapter".
For iPhone, we recommend getting an "MFi certified adapter" for example from Apple only store or amazon, as others may not work.

If you have Glowing IC Pad 3, it can also be connected via Bluetooth instead of the cable.
